About me

I love working with people in organisations so that we can become better together and develop new things. I see and find the potential – in individuals, teams and organisations. This creates strength and energy in me – and this is how most clients also describe me: as a power woman who sees the positive and is capable of inspiring others for new things.

I do a lot of work in the fields of agile transformation, self-organisation and leadership. For example, I am certified as a Holacracy Coach and I have strengthened my knowledge of the topics of error management and positive leadership. As a consultant, I always try to explore the limits of theory and practical feasibility. I’m also a critical spirit: I challenge cooperation, as I am mainly interested in achieving the desired impact. This is also connected with my systemic basis, which continues to be my point of reference and aspiration.

I consider my occupation to be a gift. Being involved in development processes on a repeated basis inspires me (even if it can be really exhausting ;)). And I also know these feelings as a mother of two teenagers and a partner – wonderful, but sometimes a challenge at the same time. I bring balance to my busy life in yoga, jogging, gardening … and if I have any time left over, I also love to sing!

    About me

What fascinates me about my work is the question of how change can actually succeed. I am at my most enthusiastic when accompanying complex change projects and making the associated dynamics visible, open to discussion and workable. One of my greatest passions is the development of people and organisations so that they can reach their full potential. I discovered this many years ago in my role as an HR Business Partner.

At present, I am intensively engaged in the question of how the transformation of organisations, teams and individuals to self-organisation, agility and purpose drive is able to succeed. I am convinced that the bigger and wider my own inner map of knowledge and experience is, the better I can accompany people and organisations through development processes. Therefore, from a personal and professional perspective, I am in a constant process of further development, which inspires me time and again, and allows me to discover new things.

In my opinion, trust is an important cornerstone for successful consulting. That is why I value accompanying my clients on a long-term basis and at the same time find it fascinating how effective a uniquely well-managed intervention can be. My approach as a consultant is my strongest tool. In my work, I believe it is particularly important to enable people – managers as well as employees – to take the lead, i.e. to take responsibility for one’s own actions, to communicate oneself and to become personally effective.

      About me

The question of the meaning of life is something I’ve been grappling with since my school days. And then there’s the realisation, as inspired by Herrmann Hesse, that life only has as much meaning as we are able to give it ourselves. Over 20 years of experience in both management and providing consulting services to organisations has shown me that meaning, or purpose, also play a decisive role in businesses. Meaningful and purposeful work isn’t just a key factor for ensuring individual well-being, but also for the positive and sustainable development of people, organisations and society.

I am convinced that a good life always requires good organisations. Organisations that make a meaningful contribution to the healthy and vibrant development of man and society without damaging the natural foundations of life or their social environment. In working with the leaders and employees of global corporations, medium-sized companies and start-ups, I contribute to making organisations inspiring, productive, innovative and meaningful.

      About me

I first found myself fascinated by the “systemic” as a very young executive when I was 28 – in the management team of a managing director who had sought support from the Neuwaldegg consulting group with challenging change-related projects and for the training of his young managers.

The Neuwaldegg team accompanied me on my journey as an international manager for almost 20 years, until 10 years ago, when I “changed sides” and joined Neuwaldegg myself.

Change, leadership and diversity remain my focus and passions today in my role of consultant, and my view of gender issues is nourished by my personal experience as a female executive. People describe me as someone who strives constantly for clarity and impartiality, and with a good feeling for what is necessary as the next step forwards. My clients appreciate my “double competence” as an experienced executive and as a consultant. What helps me is my nurturing view of organizations – and their people. To perfect my skills here, I have also started training as a psychotherapist.

It is important to me to feel a sense of diversity and difference and bring them together:

      • the further development of organizations – and the further development of their people;
      • the challenges in management consulting – and my services as an voluntary palliative carer;
      • the increasing complexity of my tasks – and the amount of time I spend travelling to visit my clients;
      • projects that challenge my grandchildren
      • and spending the evening ballroom dancing;

all of these things make me what I am, bring me down to earth and sharpen my focus on the things that really matter.

      About me

I am one of those fortunate individuals who have found true fulfillment in their profession. With a twinkle in my eye, I sometimes say: “I can’t do anything else.” Of course, this is an exaggeration – my diverse interests, education, and (in all modesty) talents tell a different story.

My passion and purpose lie in guiding change and transformation processes as a systemic organizational consultant. I create clarity where complexity prevails. This clarity rarely emerges through harmony, but often through challenging processes that ultimately lead to more sustainable collaboration and genuine change. The journey can be demanding and sometimes contradicts my natural disposition – which is characterized by joy and lightness.

What particularly fascinates me in my work is the balance of opposites: change and consistency, seriousness and joy, tension and relaxation, humility and confidence. This ambivalence allows me to create a positive atmosphere even during difficult process phases. My clients appreciate that I take challenges seriously while approaching my work with humor and joy.

Thanks to numerous training courses and my curiosity for every learning opportunity, methodological diversity and flexibility are my strengths. I work with individuals as well as large teams or in complex group processes – always following the principles of systemic organizational consulting based on Luhmann’s theory and the Viennese systemic school. My repertoire includes individual coaching, large group facilitation, transformation processes, and leadership development, drawing from approaches like Otto Scharmer’s Theory U, Purpose Driven Organizations concepts by Fink and Moeller, and the “Moving Organizations” model by Boos and Buzanich-Pöltl.

Sustainability frames everything I do – both professionally and personally. To me, sustainable work means effectiveness: changes are implemented effectively and for the long term, whether at a personal level, within a team, or across an entire organization. It’s not always easy, but it’s worth it.

As a happy Viennese by choice and a globetrotter at heart, I enjoy the advantages of city life – culture, hustle and bustle, and everything that comes with it. At the same time, I appreciate being able to quickly escape to green spaces where I can clear my mind while jogging or performing improvisational theater. And although I love my work, there is also life beyond it: especially with wonderful people, sports, and plenty of humor.

      About me

All stories start somewhere. Mine began in Austria. But also in eight other countries. Each time, in different work contexts: in academia, the public sector, the cultural sector and in non-profit organizations.

What have I learned from this?
An ability to adapt to new situations. To curiously explore what rules and expectations apply in each situation. To challenge my own point of view again and again. Flexibility not as an imposition, but as normality.

I bring these qualities into my work with my clients. I offer observations from the outside. I ask questions that lead beyond the expected. I design (reflection, discussion, and physical) spaces for creativity and encounter. To stimulate change. Change, which can be translated into the reality of my clients.

      Everyone tells stories. Constantly.
Everyone lives stories. Privately, as well as professionally. Who doesn’t know the “typical” anecdotes that are often told at Christmas parties, retreats, company outings, etc.? Why do we do this? Stories bring meaning. They create orientation and provide inspiration to move on.

      Every story is unique.
Just as every organization is unique. But if you zoom out, similarities appear. Every story has a beginning and an end. There are always peaks or low points. People assume roles.

      As in organizations.
Here, too, there is a beginning (when the company was founded!). But subsequent decisions mayalso, partially, lead to new beginnings: the decision to introduce a new IT infrastructure, or launch a new product, or establish new guidelines or employ new people. In companies as in stories, individuals assume one or more roles. And they need a vision, a benchmark. As orientation. As a milestone. As a temporary ending.

Temporarily. Because we can always continue telling stories. We could always write them differently. In accordance with Hermann Hesse’s saying “There is magic in every beginning”, I would like to invite you:
      Let’s rewrite your story together!

        About me

Being open to new things and expanding your personal horizons and abilities are important factors in both my professional career and my everyday life. This is also clear from my varied training in the hotel and tourism sector through to my move to the advertising and communications sector and the nine years I have now spent working at the Neuwaldegg consulting group.

During the continuous discussions with our clients, networks and consultants, I get the opportunity to make my personal remit varied, exciting and challenging. The Holocratic approach we take to our work and the high degree of personal responsibility and co-determination associated with it correspond to my personal desire for self-realisation.

It is also interesting to view these experiences in the area of agility and independent work in everyday life in terms of the development of my daughter, who is now almost grown up.

          About me

When I read reports from the “Mediterranean Death Zone” which merchant ships and warships circumnavigate so as to “overlook” drownings, or when I follow German climate policy, which half-heartedly decides the things that are already making it impossible to stop global warming, then I ask myself whether it isn’t high time to join an aid organisation myself rather than stand on the sidelines. What am I still doing here?!

As my Swabian grandmother would say, “a cobbler should stick to his last!” Rather than navigating a rescue cruiser or pursuing European policy, I am a “business pilot”, however. Consulting flows through my veins and it’s what drives me, day and night: whether it’s honing the strategy, the most functional organisational structure, the most adequate management model or the further development of the leadership: what’s the right answer so that my clients’ companies can stay fit for the future?

That the profession also has parallels with flying and that it’s traditionally about profit and growth rather than the greater good and sustainability?

That’s right! So I stretch myself according to our Purpose and have made meaning into my field of research. In our book, we show why meaning is the answer to increasing complexity, and that a “side effect” of this clear contribution by an organisation means growth, profit and satisfied employees for others. Money follows meaning! And if that isn’t a marketing fig leaf, but a central guiding star, organisations can unfurl the power to shape our future.

What keeps me at my last are my clients. That’s because they’re intelligent, funny and just as demanding as I am. And because they know that consulting can’t be a “deliverable” product.

Why I ask myself the question of the “last” at all? Because our second child has just been born and my children have shown me that I don’t have to be a user of the planet, but an enabler for life.

          About me

More than 20 years ago, I landed in the consulting industry almost overnight. And I put my heart and soul into it from day one. I worked in almost all areas in-house: from customer care to organising events, from supervising multi-module courses to the upkeep of the office, from arranging travel to updating contact details. At the same time, I was given the opportunity to train as a systemic coach. All this has allowed me to constantly learn. After 15 years though, it was time for a change and a new challenge. I got to know completely new structures and processes, but very quickly realised that I missed working directly with people. And after what felt like a “stay abroad”, I’m back again.

Engaging with oneself, with a team or with an entire organisation is always an extremely exciting and educational process. Supporting consultants in their task of bringing about positive change is my motivation.

All these steps in my life, the constant learning about myself has made me more reflective and mindful and I try to incorporate this into bringing up my two wonderful daughters every day.

            About me

“I can also be nice, but it won’t achieve anything”, that’s what it says on a poster in my office. You could say that it’s characteristic of me. My humour might be described as being “black”. Some find it funny, while for others, it’s cynical. But I don’t really want to be everybody’s darling.

I’ve been responsible for finance and accounting as well as controlling at Neuwaldegg since 2010. Anyone with a question about the bookkeeping, who needs tax information, or is invoicing a project comes to me. As long as you don’t hear from me or see me that much, it generally means I’m doing a good job and I’m running things smoothly for the consultants. Well that’s how I see my role. To better understand what our consultants do, I’ve also trained as a systemic consultant and a coach.

When I’m not crunching numbers, I’m a genuine news junkie, and read 3–4 newspapers per day. I like music, cooking and going to the theatre. But I prefer to spend time with my one-year-old daughter, who has already wrapped me around her finger and brings completely new emotions from the rational thinker in no time. It’s certainly going to get interesting!

              About me

In case you were wondering: at the end of October, my surname “Fürlinger” became “Brunner”.

I like things to be colourful. And that’s the way lots of people find me to be. I generally try to see things in positively. Breaking new ground and taking things forward – these are the things that I find fun, and even took me to Africa for a while. At the most recent conference, I realised that I’m a “Giver”. I think that’s about right. People, social cohesion, maintaining an environment which is worth living in, and taking responsibility for it are all important to me. Those are the values that I’m trying to pass onto my two children.

At Neuwaldegg, I find myself excited about our systemic approach, our common purpose, working with Holacracy (where things are happening right now!), the continuous further development (currently: my training as a coach), the combination of such a great deal of know-how, energy and different strengths. And those are exactly what I want to condense, make tangible and convey authentically in my Brand & Communication role, currently with the development of a new brand and this new website. I find inspiration & relaxation in the great outdoors and enjoy jogging and walking along the Danube. I like the currents, the river meadow, stand up paddling and river bathing – all things river.

                About me

40 years ago, six of us “invented” and founded the Neuwaldegg consulting group – we wanted to develop new things with committed people from companies and to make the world a better and more interesting place through interactions between people, organisations and technology. Looking back, a lot has been achieved, but looking to the future, the challenges haven’t diminished: how do we combine public welfare and individual benefit perspectives, how do we balance self-organization with the management expectations of others, and how can social and organisational dynamics get along with each other? I still enjoy finding new answers, sharing and connecting knowledge with the next generation (and sometimes the generation after that), supporting people and expanding the potential of organisations. Not wanting to stand still, personally and professionally, is probably the underlying credo – but it’s always a good idea to take a breather, to enjoy what’s going on and let your gaze wander, to where and what the next things to discover are.

                About me

Before I act, I want to understand.

I dig deep, illuminate connections, and ask questions — even the uncomfortable ones. As a friend of the clear word, I speak openly about things that others often only suspect. I have a keen sense of what is going on between the lines — of tensions, unspoken issues, and systemic dynamics.

What sets me apart is my ability to combine hard and soft factors: Numbers & emotions, structure & relationships, strategy & culture. I integrate different perspectives and open spaces where new solutions can emerge — even beyond the obvious. I believe that real transformation happens where clarity, courage and a conscious design of the social space come together. That’s why I like to try new approaches. Often the most effective solution lies not in the tried and tested, but in creative experimentation.

A current focus of my work is the integration of artificial intelligence in organizations. AI doesn’t just change processes — it changes collaboration, leadership and decision-making logic. I help organizations to consciously manage this change.

I work for people and organizations that want to get the best out of themselves — whether they are SMEs or corporations, regional or global. International projects with distributed teams are as much a part of my daily work as sparring with top executives.

My aim is to be noticeably effective.
Where there is a real desire for change, I am fully committed.

                  About me

In my studies and the volunteer work I do as a youth group leader, it has always been important to me (as a bit of an organization freak) to keep track of things and at the same time spend as much time as possible with other people.
Learning new things about these people and what they do makes the work most exciting for me.

Not only in my journalism and communication studies at the University of Vienna, but also in my cooperation with the Neuwaldegger:innen I appreciate such moments.
Besides administrative tasks, database maintenance, marketing support and other office tasks, I have been able to learn a lot of new things here at Neuwaldegg and I am still curious to learn more.

                    About me

I enjoy working with people who want to change organisations and bring new things into the world. And I like people who like their inner clown, people who can laugh at themselves.

I am thrilled when we succeed in learning together, when groups come into the flow, and when something comes into being that nobody could have imagined before. In my profession, standing still isn’t an option. That’s why I like to read and write about our topics.

Development processes always take place around boundaries. Being able to overcome them requires (minimally invasive) irritations and a careful process so as to create sustainability. Like a clown, as a consultant, I don’t want to be perfect, but to make use of mistakes for development. The organisations of tomorrow (agile organisations) require reliability, trust, and in some cases, perfection. Above all, they need the ability to relate at the internal and external levels.

I have been an organisational consultant for more than 35 years. I consider it to be a gift that this occupation has found me.

                    About me

A look into the workshop room. You can see confidence on people’s faces, where a few hours ago there was still doubt. Many already have an excited sparkle in their eyes. You can feel the optimism and pride spreading through the room. Who would have thought it just a few short weeks ago?

Experiencing how organisations map a (new) path to a sustainable future and supporting them on that journey is a source of both strength and joy to me. Where did this passion come from?

You could say I grew up with systems thinking. A family discussion and debate was part and parcel of long car journeys back from our holidays. This is what nurtured my interest in taking a closer look, in persisting with difficult topics and in changing perspectives to find creative solutions.

And when asked where we should go on holiday next, I have been known to produce a spreadsheet for choosing the destination. In short, you could say that structure is very important in my life.

I draw on all these elements plus experience from a large strategy consultancy, from management work in the family company and as a consultant and from the world of sport (in particular ice hockey) in my work with my clients.

And why do I do it? A father of two, I am interested in more than just short-term optimisation. I want to help create a society in which my children can live happily and well.

                      About me

Social systems and their patterns emerge in the interdependency between forces of change and inertia. Change cannot exist without continuity, agility cannot exist without stability. From this position, an appreciation emerges for all of the roles in the dynamics of an organisation and its structures. Therefore, resistance becomes a configurable energy in the occurrence of change.

Profound transformation only becomes possible by respecting that which exists. This has been my personal approach for more than 25 years. Initially, for 10 years with Coopers & Lybrand, Price Waterhouse Coopers and IBM, and now as a Senior Partner at Neuwaldegg for more than 20 years. Clients say that I combine the best of two worlds. On the one hand, the “classical, analytical, tough” side to consulting and the experience gained from large-scale and sophisticated systems, business models and structures.

And on the other hand, the “psychological, sociological, mindful” side of transformation and leadership. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue to live out my passion and to tailor corporate development processes to the clients. I suppose you can tell.

                      About me

Assisting people and organisations in challenging processes of change and development both asks a lot of me and encourages me in my daily work. Every reflected answer to an important question and every strategy for a solution which is developed as a result leads to personal growth – for my clients as well as for me. The approaches and the thinking never stand still, and certainly not in individual or organisational development, but I love my job.

As an occupational and organisational psychologist, I work in consulting, training, coaching and research on the work-related experience and behaviour of individuals and groups in organisations. In this respect, the focus is on meaningful control processes, new forms of work, the selection and development of people, and the cultural configuration of the company, with the ambitious goal of making the best possible use of the existing potential for both individuals and the organisation.

What inspires me is looking consistently at the existing resources, as well as the exciting question of how and for what purpose they are put to use. “Strengthening strengths strengthens”, this play on words from the field of positive psychology doesn’t just apply to my working life. Since I have had children, I have also realised how helpful this approach is and all the things that are and can be possible if we reflect on the things that we can do well and bring us joy.
